Michael killed it at Molly Malones this past Saturday night!! His setlist was just to die for..According to the LiterateGal’s tweets Michael sang “Statues”, Roy Orbison’s “Crying”, “Redemption”, Adele’s “Someone Like You” and “Taillights” (the one that is named as “Redemption” on The Rising Myspace).

We were so lucky with tweets, twitvids, pictures and videos from fans that attended and I know I can speak for all of us who weren’t there….a HUGE thank-you to everyone who shared!
MJ’s song choice was spot on and I think that “Crying” and “Someone Like You” showed off his voice to perfection!!

Happy Birthday Michael Johns Online!

Happy Birthday MJO. That’s right. Exactly one year ago today this site was officially born. If you want to get technical you could say that the idea was born on the 1-22-08: The day I saw Michael Johns audition on American Idol. I immediately saw something extra special in MJ and knew that he was the contestant I wanted to give all of my support to. I didn’t need to see anyone else. I was looking at the winner. Of course, that’s not exactly how it worked out but I don’t think Michael or any of his fans are complaining. This past year had been wonderful. Lots of us got a chance to meet Michael during the AI tour over the summer and had a blast sharing our stories, pics and videos.

I originally planned for the site to be just a blog but decided to add a forum and created a fan community. And what wonderful members we have! So wonderful they decided to create this very special tribute to the site. The video was created by Tara (mjfan4life) with the help of lots of other wonderful “folks” who you’ll see mentioned at the end of this video. Break out the kleenex. I know I had too.

From Allison, Helen, Jane, Eric, Jo, Judy, and Kathy: Thank you Tara for this video and thank you to everyone at MJO. It’s been an AUSSOME year! We love you all!

MJO is proud to present a special preview of Another Christmas written and performed by Michael Johns!

As we told you earlierMichael’s, Another Christmas will be released for digital download only on December 9th. You will be able to download this beautiful song from iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody, and Napster, etc…

All proceeds will go to Nancy O’dell’s (Access Hollywood) charities for ALS and The Red Cross. Look for Michael to perform the song live on Access Hollywood this holiday season (date to be announced later).

UPDATE: If you are using Internet Explorer you may not be able to see the player. Until I can find a player that’s compatible with all browsers you will have to use Firefox. It’s easy to download and install and it’s free. Yay!

Email issues

I just realized today that I have not been receiving any emails to my MJO email address since the server move on 10-7. This includes any messages sent from the contact form above. If you have sent email to that address and did not receive a reply I am not ignoring you. Trying to get this worked out.

Server move complete!

We had to make a little unexpected server move yesterday so that’s why the site’s been down for nearly 24 hours. Turns out that MJO has grown so much that we now require our very own personal server. Thanks to everyone for your patience during the downtime.

Now it’s time to get back to supporting our guy, Mr. Michael. Johns.
