Michael and his Idol pals, put on a rockin’ show that was free for everyone on Friday night at the train station! The audience loved it and you can clearly tell they all had a great time too. Many thanks to Funjet Vacations for sponsoring this fabulous show!

What a great cause!! By all accounts, they had a fabulous time and brought us back some wonderful media. Thanks ladies!!
The bands for the evening were rockin’ and Michael, always amazing! The guys in the Jonas band played first. Next up was Jeff Foxworth’s band, Weekend Excursion, and then MJ who performed 4 fan-favourite songs with Jeff and then 1 song with W.E. The final and very special treat of the evening was MJ singing some of his new Christmas song to the girls

Lineup Announced for Weekend Excursion’s Annual Jimmy V Benefit

On December 17, 2011 melodic rockers Weekend Excursion will take the stage for what has become an annual benefit supporting the Jimmy V Foundation in their fight against cancer. This cause hits especially close to home for the band as three of its members have lost their mothers to the disease. This year Lucas Gambit Entertainment will assist in marketing and promotion of the event which will be held at Lincoln Theatre in Downtown Raleigh NC. We are honored to partner in such an honorable cause and are asking for your support as well. All proceeds from the show will be donated to the Jimmy V Foundation and tickets can be purchased in advance here.

The lineup this year will feature Weekend Excursion and two great acts with ties to this region. Former Glassnote Recording Artist, Jonas Sees In Color will perform along with a special appearance and performance by American Idol Season 7 Top 10 finalist Michael Johns.

American Idol Season 7 Finalist Michael Johns
Australian born Michael Johns was a contestant on the 7th season of American Idol, where he made it into the top 8, before being shockingly eliminated. Johns music career began when at the age of 20 the former tennis player and Australian rules football player moved to Atlanta GA. It was during a brief stint in the indie rock band Film that Johns met and struck up a fast friendship with the members of Weekend Excursion. After releasing a couple of independent albums with Film, Johns signed a record deal, moved to LA and founded the band The Rising who had one commercial release before Johns left the band. After recording an independently produced solo LP, Johns auditioned for American Idol and the rest is, as they say, history.

Nashville Tennessee get ready!!!  The Netball Championships and Michael Johns are going to rock your world!

 On November 5, 2011, Netball America will be hosting the Netball National Championships with home team, the Nashville Kangaroos.

Michael will be on hand to sing “God Bless America” just before the finals and will be performing the post event celebration.  Anyone who has seen Michael perform a live show, knows just how fabulous it’ll be
Also performing with MJ will be Stephen Rowe, Troy MacCubbin and Dutch Suoninen. Check out their profiles on the poster below. Newly added to the lineup is Jeff  “Shakey” Fowlkes.

What: Michael Johns and Syesha Mercado, two stars from American Idol season seven, will perform a free concert for 250 people!

We’re thrilled that Michael and Syesha are including the RPR concert as part of their weekend tour of Central Texas in support of Border to Border for Kids programs that help children in need on both sides of the US-Mexico border. Local singer-songwriter John Arthur Martinez will join the Idols on stage and serve as emcee. The event is produced by ProLink Live.

Whenever Michael sings the National Anthem, he absolutely kills it!!! He has the best rendition out there and he is asked so often to perform it at all sorts of large sporting events…the Dodgers have had him back to sing it several times!!
He sang both “The Star Spangled Banner” and “God Bless America” at the September 21st game against the Giants.

Friday evening was such a special evening at the Viper Room…Michael just slayed it!! His setlist was nothing short of brilliant, singing fan favourites and two outstanding news songs…each song he performed was amazing..from the most tender to the most rockin’ ever!

I have to say that the band was fabulous and we’d love to see more of this collaboration
Kevin Haaland on lead guitar, Dan on bass guitar, George Holdcroft on keyboard and sax, and Philippe on drums!! Anyone would think they had played together for years..it was awesome! (especially on Ramble Tamble!!)

The room was packed and there was all sorts of support for Michael from fans, friends and other celebrities. I want to add that Stacey looked absolutely beautiful and it was great to see her again!

Michael was in great demand by everyone wanting to congratulate him after the show.. he was just wonderful and thanked everyone for coming out to support him!!
It was such a fabulous night and everyone wants to thank-YOU Michael!!! You absolutely slayed it and I think everyone would agree it is up there with their favourite shows! Both your new songs are so beautiful and we just can’t wait for your single and album release!
