Next up was Michael Johns of American Idol fame, singing “She’s a Beauty”, Foster’s Oscar nominated “Look What You’ve Done To Me” and an amazing rendition of “St. Elmo’s Fire (Man in Motion)” that Foster revealed he wrote after being inspired by Canadian hero Rick Hansen.

Twitter, and Atlanta!

First up, Michael’s changed his twitter name from @mjohnsmusic to @michael_johns, so in the event that Twitter hasn’t automatically updated that, make sure you’re following the right account!

Secondly, Atlanta! Michael performed a 3.5 hour set at the Tin Roof Cantina a couple of days ago, which Tina and Kimberley attended. He performed a host of songs he used to play back in the day there, so have one here – Champagne Supernova.

It seems that Michael’s also singing a new song during the David Foster show – the Love Theme from Urban Cowboy, which David Foster said they’d decided to try out, a little unrehearsed. They still sound great though, so check out Tina’s video below!

Sorry for the late post, but as of now, it looks like Michael’s performing She’s A Beauty, Man in Motion, Hard Habit to Break (as a duet with Peter Cetera) and America’s Song with the rest of the performers to close out the show. Thanks to all who’ve posted video!

Michael Johns was the first guest, singing “She’s a Beauty” originally performed by The Tubes and “Man in Motion” originally sung by John Parr. Michael’s stage presence was excellent, involving the audience as much as possible and delivering a very energetic performance overall.

Michael Johns returned to the stage to join Peter in singing “Hard Habit to Break”, their vocals complimented one another well.

Rodney Ho over at Access Atlanta had a chance to chat with David Foster about the upcoming David Foster & Friends tour, and here’s what he had to say about Michael:

His thoughts on Buckhead’s Michael Johns: “I love being around Michael. He appreciates what I do. He’s a young, good looking rock singer. And he’s got such a great voice. He’s smart enough to know what came before him. And I’m just thrilled he’s with us. He’ll do one of his own songs and some of mine, some of my rockier stuff, like ‘She’s a Beauty’ by the Tubes and ‘Man in Motion’ by John Parr [St. Elmo’s Fire).”
