During his time on American Idol, Michael Johns’ strongest performances always emphasized the bluesy side of his voice, culminating in a nuanced, slow-smoked cover of Dolly Parton’s “It’s All Wrong But It’s All Right.” One year after his unexpected elimination, Johns makes his post-Idol debut with Hold Back My Heart, a surprisingly strong album that finds him doing what he does best: soul, Southern rock, and contemporary blues. While Michael’s own songs can quite measure up to “Heart on my Sleeve,” a stand-out ballad composed by John Shanks and James Morrison, his own compositions are perfectly acceptable, showcasing his coarsely scrubbed baritone and preference for earthy melodies. Organ, horns, and background vocals enhance the vibe, but Hold Back My Heart is essentially a showcase for Johns’ voice, which sounds better here than ever he did on television. ~

I really enjoy your new CD-album, I got in Best Buy. I’m listening to it in full sound (OK, almost in full) , pure, crystal sound.. God !!! It so beautiful !! Everything in it’s own way beautiful..Your background singers and musicians are gorgeous.. Now I know Sharlotte Gibson . she’s very good singer..Love all your songs there.. But I was impressed by “This is good bye “, “Hold back my heart “, and you, Michael , sound stunning.. I’d like you’ll sing somewhere This is good bye , say , in Las Vegas
for big auditorium..with David Foster orchestra..OOOO !!!!

michael was AMAZING last week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hold back my heart was one of my favs from his set!! seriously guys, it was HOT!!!!!!! you might think its hot from the video right now, but seeing that live , omg!!!!!! and the sound system was soo good. all around the courtyard.

and im soooo happy i had this opportunity to go see him. thanks my rocket science people for doing this. lol. i know i thanked you guys a lot already. bahaha.

and michael!!! thank you for the BEST concert ever. cant wait to see you again. and yay!!!!!! mjo shoutout!!! it just slipped from your mouth like it was natural. haha. WE LOVE YOU!
