Happy Birthday MJO. That’s right. Exactly one year ago today this site was officially born. If you want to get technical you could say that the idea was born on the 1-22-08: The day I saw Michael Johns audition on American Idol. I immediately saw something extra special in MJ and knew that he was the contestant I wanted to give all of my support to. I didn’t need to see anyone else. I was looking at the winner. Of course, that’s not exactly how it worked out but I don’t think Michael or any of his fans are complaining. This past year had been wonderful. Lots of us got a chance to meet Michael during the AI tour over the summer and had a blast sharing our stories, pics and videos.
I originally planned for the site to be just a blog but decided to add a forum and created a fan community. And what wonderful members we have! So wonderful they decided to create this very special tribute to the site. The video was created by Tara (mjfan4life) with the help of lots of other wonderful “folks” who you’ll see mentioned at the end of this video. Break out the kleenex. I know I had too.

So sorry I couldn’t take part in this. Life has thrown me some lemons since November and I’ve been trying real hard not to lose it all. Our whole family is hurting right now and the weird thing is, both Another Christmas and Life is Okay, lyrically speaking, has hit really close to home with what we have been going through.

Allison/Helen and everyone, Glad you love it!!! I have to add that my daughter, Kayla, helped me also! She’s taking a class on this in school, so she gave me some advice. I love you all and it was so fun putting it all together. I had a blast looking at all the pictures. Wishing many more birthdays for MJO!!!!

Thanks, When Michael was voted off I was afraid he would just fade away like so many others. I’m so happy this didn’t happen. I’m glad Michael is still very busy and you are keeping up with him. I saw the same thing in Michael that you did Allison. I hope you can keep up with him this year. Thanks again.

I don’t mind sharing so I’ll keep this short.
We found out my husband had a child before I met him.. He didn’t even know she existed until this past November. She’s 17!!!!! Her mama, as a matter of fact her whole darn family down in Alabama (we are in PA) is on meth. Her mom is going to prsion for a long time. She wanted to live with us. We gave up so much to get her here. Gave her the world but it wasn’t enough. We put her on a bus last night back home. My younger two cried themselves to sleep We can only pray for her now. My husband heard Life Is Okay and said it was like him singing to his daughter, and his daughter singing back. He’s a mess. We feel like if she goes home and chooses the wrong path, it’s because we didn’t try hard enough. We just couldn’t bare to keep her here knowing she would eventually leave. Figured send her home before we turn out to be the bad guys. She never had a real family, no one to tell her what to do and I don’t think she wasn’t ready for it.

ALLISON & HELEN, thank you for the vision, for believing in MJ, for giving us our second home, our second family!! this site is the most up to date MJ site ever, and it wouldn’t be possible without your guys’ vision, the mods cleaning up after our mess haha, and the active fans posting..

Okay, um. I wanted to say Happy Birthday MJO! I really love that you created this site Allison because without it, I don’t know how my life would have been. MJO is a big part of my day and the friends I’ve made this past year are a testament to how much dedication and effort you put into this site for all of us to call a second home. I’m thankful for being a member and sharing my thoughts and joys and whatever else life throws at me with you all! I mean, afterall I met my very first stalker here (though the tables have changed now…). Ahh, to my lovely Susa-poo here (love ya Susanna!!). There are so many people here that have affected me and it’s seriously very humbling to be in such good company.
Thanks also to the moderators who are doing a fantastic job helping you out. You really have made the best Michael Johns fansite out there as you are the only one that is constantly updating on the whereabouts of a Mister Michael Johns and all his adventures!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MJO!!! I’m so grateful for this site, and for all of those who I’ve met over the past year. Although I didn’t join this site until September, I had always been such a huge fan. My computer crashed in December 2007, and I didn’t get it back until July… making it hard for me to communicate with others about MJ.. but when I got here I was welcomed with open arms, and I’m so thankful that MJO has happened to my life. To Helen and Allison, thank you for starting this, and giving me something to look forward to each and every day.. you girls are my heroes. To Janine… Jess..Jane… Susanna.. Tania.. and my MJO buddies for always chatting… it’s been a blast. To my Aussie gal pals.. it’s soooo refreshing and great to hear about your culture.. Of course thanks to Shandra and Tessa.. we started with MJ as our interest.. but now we’ve really seen that we share even more as great friends.. to everybody else on MJO.. I’m sooooo happy to get to wake up to this every morning… and to be able to share such a love for one person… and of course to Mr. Michael Johns for making this all possible.. for being such a great singer… sooo down to earth.. and loving.. and for making my life complete. I had the same feelings when I saw Michael audition for AI….I still remember that I thought he was going to be the winner and I was absolutely shocked when he was no longer on…everywhere I went it was the topic of conversation that he was not in AI anymore…..I love watching his career grow…he is a winner!!
i’m extremely late on this and omg mj’s “hey michael johns here” from the vip message thingy just scared the crap out of me yet again, but i wanna say a belated happy HAPPY b’day to mjo!! i don’t participate in the forums as much as i’d like to anymore but i hope to rectify that at some point. anyway, i’m so grateful to all the mods-thank you thank you thank you- and i’m also beyond thankful to have met all the awesome people i’ve come to know through mjo…my dearest tania, janine, my two favorite dianes in the whole world (ladydi and muggle), jane, jen, jess, nancy, laur, carla, donna, morgan, paulette, andrea, tessa…i could go on and on and on. i’m also loving mj more than ever. it’s crazy how my love and admiration and respect for him continues to grow more and more each day considering it was off the charts from the beginning! which was over a year ago now! wow!
