Michael and his wife Stacey looked picture perfect on the red carpet at the G’day LA Gala in Los Angeles yesterday.
HOLLYWOOD’S A-List, including Oscar winner Sally Field, shared the G’Day: USA red carpet with tennis legends John McEnroe and Rod Laver at the sixth Australia Week ball in Los Angeles yesterday.The ball saw Penfold’s wine flowing and celebrity chef Luke Mangan cooking up his signature dishes.
The ball honoured actors Rachel Griffiths and Eric Bana and tennis great Laver.
Field, who co-stars with Griffiths in the TV drama Brothers & Sisters, presented the actor with the Excellence in Television & Film Award.
Bana received his Excellence in Film Award from his Black Hawk Down co-star William Fichtner, and McEnroe presented Laver with the Excellence in Sport Award.
Among the 1200 guests were Simon Baker, Melissa George, Anthony LaPaglia, Poppy Montgomery and partner Adam Kaufman, Olivia Newton-John, newlyweds Ben Lee and Ione Skye, singer Michael Johns and his wife Stacey, Emilie du Ravin, Kimberley Joseph and celebrity chef Curtis Stone.

I don’t understand why calling Mike a singer is a big step. He is a singer. Maybe this is a big step because he is not called an American Idol singer? I don’t know. Anyway, It’s good to see him. I hope to see more of him when his record comes out. I really hope his record does well. He has a great voice. I want to hear more of it. He looks great in the picture. I really don’t know why he hasn’t done better than he has. Every time he starts doing well he trips and falls. I hope he doesn’t do this with his new record. He has a great voice and is very good looking. There’s something missing here. I wonder what it is. I wonder if I need another cup of coffee.

BettyBrown, I commented on him being referenced as a “singer” is because it was not preceded by “American Idol”. He is a singer, a great one at that.
Great picture. I love it. Tara I agree with you it is wonderful to see “singer” in front of Michael’s name. There is nothing missing here. Michael is the whole package. I am sure that Michael will continue to rise to the level that he deserves to be at as a SINGER,performer, and songwriter. I will continue to support him 100% in everything he does.

Well, I really want Mike to do well because I like his voice so much. He’s the first person I have ever voted for on AI. I was very upset when he was voted off. I was on my phone for 2 hours voting for him. I just kept hitting redial. I was afraid he would just fade away. I am so happy this didn’t happen. He’s doing very well for being voted off 8th. He has a lot of you know what do the things he’s done. He seems like a very strong person with a lot of heart. I just don’t understand why he’s having such a hard time.

OK – I’ve got to say it. I really love you most when you are close shaven…but I will take you any way I can get you. I think you look younger without the beard…that may not be a good thing in your opinion. You’re the man either way!
Well, fingers crossed I think currently and in the future there are only good things ahead for Michael Betty Brown. As long as he keeps getting invited to events like this where he has opportunities to network with A-listers and gets that album out in March, I think MJ fans should be pretty confident things will only keep looking up from here!

Betty , Michael is not having a hard time now , I’m not sure what you mean by that? If you mean why hasn’t he an album out yet , well that is happening in March & will be fantastic, at the moment the Don’t Look Down album is out & his single should be out soon !! He has been constantly busy after leaving Idol & asked to perform all over the place . MJ didn’t sing at this event but its great for him to be asked. They look great as a couple & I love Stacey’s hair as well! So don’t worry Betty , I think Michael is having the time if his life!!

I’m with Judes, why do you think he is having such a hard time? He is getting ready to release a soundtrack tomorrow, a single soon and an album in March. Ever since he was voted off the show he has been doing gigs all over the globe. He has also been invited to many high profile events where he is surrounded by established artists and other prominent business and political figures. Don’t feel sorry for him…he is doing what he loves…writing, recording and performing!!

I think it’s great that so many people are supporting Mike so well. This is great. I’m looking forward to the new songs. Stacey seems to be behind him all the way.
Michael is so talented and deserves all the success in the world! If life was fair, he would have been an instant superstar at age 17, based on his talent alone, but sometimes it takes a lot of hard work and perseverence to get the recognition you deserve. I’m glad Michael is the kind of guy who will keep going until he achieves all of his dreams. I’m also happy for him because I sense that he really enjoys performing, so he’s enjoying his journey to the top every step of the way!
