ZOMG! This is just an amazing song and seriously gives me goosebumps. Like Elizabeth, I too was waiting for Michael and Brooke to do a duet. I am going to say I’d still favour Michael’s vocals over Brooke on this song
. That soulful plaintive voice got me again from the beginning but its a beautiful duet and song. Brooke did a really nice job

All the tracks on the soundtrack were written by Michael, Rye Randa and Jeff Foxworth except for ‘River of Life’ which was written by Michael and Jeff (around an original song by Lebo Kgasapane).

This is a totally amazing song. So very rare to love a song the very first time I hear it. I usually have to hear a few times for it to soak in but not this one! Makes me sad that Michael Johns didn’t win Idol. David Cook’s really good and should have been 2nd, but Michael was the very best and this song just proves it. He and Brooke sound awesome together. Definitely needs to be released as a single!!!!! It’s one of those songs you want to listen to over and over and over again.
How perfect that the two most soulful singers on AI would pair to perform such a beautiful duet and makings of a mega hit– encore, encore!!! After hearing Michael and Carly sing, I couldn’t picture any of the other female finalists from AI blending with MJ as well as Carly. I’ve changed my mind!! Carly has that rock/soul vibe like MJ whereas Brooke leans towards the Carly Simon, Carol King side of music. I cannot think of any words to describe this duet…I closed my eyes and got lost in the moment!! It was outstanding!! They blend so not only with the harmony but when they both sing the same notes, it sounds like one voice. I’m VERY impressed!!!

I admit that I was never a big fan of Michael’s, but a big fan of Brooke’s. I never dreamt or imagined them doing a duet together, I always thought it’s always about Marly and Brooke and Jason, but this had changed my mind! Brooke and Michael duet proved me wrong. Their voice blends so well together and compliments each other’s awesomely. No words can describe how much I love this song!
I do like the song and them singing together, but I am very disappointed that he has not done with Carly yet. I think him and Carly are really great together. Who doesn’t like “Marly”. I like Brooke but I am very upset that it was said that Carly and Michael will have to put their songs on the back burner while they try to get their own albums going. Why do one with Brooke if that is the case? I would like to know the real reason that they have not done a duet yet.

I have heard MJ and Carly sing together but it is a different kind of music…more rock…and when I first heard on the AI blogs about this release I was surprised. I am so glad I found this site, because I have been wondering about micheal johns and what has happened sense he left AI. I really thought he should have won the whole thing that year. When he didn’t I seriously stopped watching the show. He has such a powerfull voice. This song is one of the best I have listened to in a very long time. IMO he is the total package!!!!

Eve, I couldn’t agree with you more. I don’t know why he wanted to sing rock so much, but I think he should have let it go long ago. He did say in an interview with Rodney Ho last Dec. that his record was goin to sound like the It’s all wrong ,but it’s alright song. I was so glad to hear this. This is what I like. This is what I will buy. I like hearing him sing with Brook. I really don’t like hearing him sing with Carly because I don’t like yelling. I’m with David Foster. I like his soft voice. I can’t think of anyone else out there with a voice like his when he sings with his blues voice. If his record sounds like this song I will be a happy woman.

I love this song. Never thought about MJ and BW singing together, but their voices are a perfect blend. I bought the song and MJ’s album as well as both of Brooke’s albums and play them a lot while I’m working. I also bought David Cook’s album and love it, too. And guess what? I’m a 72 year old grandma. You don’t have to be young to appreciate talent and great music.
