OMGGGGGGGGGG! i never expected this!! an mj -brooke duet. i was pretty sure it was carly and michael first. but im loving this song SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!! we need a new name for them. these two were my top guy and girl favorites beginning of AI season last year. and ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. this is toooooooo much!!!!!!!!! i cant wait for the 20th. i really hope theres a hard copy!!!! in addition to being able to buy it online. i like having a physical cd to play. hahahah. old school but yeah!!!!!!!!!!!

ZOMG! This is just an amazing song and seriously gives me goosebumps. Like Elizabeth, I too was waiting for Michael and Brooke to do a duet. Yes, what a surprise!! There is never a dull moment when you are an MJ fan.

I am going to say I’d still favour Michael’s vocals over Brooke on this song . That soulful plaintive voice got me again from the beginning but its a beautiful duet and song. Brooke did a really nice job and they blend well together. I am glad Michael got to sing this duet like he said he always wanted to.

Great sound, great melody and great hook. It sounds like a hit to me, I could imagine it being played on the radio.

All the tracks on the soundtrack were written by Michael, Rye Randa and Jeff Foxworth except for ‘River of Life’ which was written by Michael and Jeff (around an original song by Lebo Kgasapane).

This is a totally amazing song. So very rare to love a song the very first time I hear it. I usually have to hear a few times for it to soak in but not this one! Makes me sad that Michael Johns didn’t win Idol. David Cook’s really good and should have been 2nd, but Michael was the very best and this song just proves it. He and Brooke sound awesome together. Definitely needs to be released as a single!!!!! It’s one of those songs you want to listen to over and over and over again.

After hearing Michael and Carly sing, I couldn’t picture any of the other female finalists from AI blending with MJ as well as Carly. I’ve changed my mind!! Carly has that rock/soul vibe like MJ whereas Brooke leans towards the Carly Simon, Carol King side of music. I cannot think of any words to describe this duet…I closed my eyes and got lost in the moment!! It was outstanding!! They blend so not only with the harmony but when they both sing the same notes, it sounds like one voice. I’m VERY impressed!!!

I admit that I was never a big fan of Michael’s, but a big fan of Brooke’s. I never dreamt or imagined them doing a duet together, I always thought it’s always about Marly and Brooke and Jason, but this had changed my mind! Brooke and Michael duet proved me wrong. Their voice blends so well together and compliments each other’s awesomely. No words can describe how much I love this song!

I do like the song and them singing together, but I am very disappointed that he has not done with Carly yet. I think him and Carly are really great together. Who doesn’t like “Marly”. I like Brooke but I am very upset that it was said that Carly and Michael will have to put their songs on the back burner while they try to get their own albums going. Why do one with Brooke if that is the case? I would like to know the real reason that they have not done a duet yet.

I LOVE IT!!! Michael and Brooke sound great together! I was a big fan of MJ’s from day 1…I was hoping for a MJ; Carly; DC; DA final 4. I have heard MJ and Carly sing together but it is a different kind of music…more rock…and when I first heard on the AI blogs about this release I was surprised. After listening to it I am very impressed…their voices blend…they harmonize very well…and I too closed my eyes and got lost in the moment…I am buying the CD…TODAY!!!

I am so glad I found this site, because I have been wondering about micheal johns and what has happened sense he left AI. I really thought he should have won the whole thing that year. When he didn’t I seriously stopped watching the show. He has such a powerfull voice. This song is one of the best I have listened to in a very long time. IMO he is the total package!!!!

Eve, I couldn’t agree with you more. I don’t know why he wanted to sing rock so much, but I think he should have let it go long ago. He did say in an interview with Rodney Ho last Dec. that his record was goin to sound like the It’s all wrong ,but it’s alright song. I was so glad to hear this. This is what I like. This is what I will buy. I like hearing him sing with Brook. I really don’t like hearing him sing with Carly because I don’t like yelling. I’m with David Foster. I like his soft voice. I can’t think of anyone else out there with a voice like his when he sings with his blues voice. If his record sounds like this song I will be a happy woman.

You’ve brought such joy since you first appeared on Idol. From the first note you sang, I knew you were my favorite of all seasons! Your voice is magical and your smile melts hearts! I’m so happy to see your successes with this duet with Brooke. Funny, but she was my favorite female contestant, and I am thrilled to hear the two of you singing together. A musical match made in heaven! I love this song and will go out to get the soundtrack … what talent you have! I could listen to you sing all day long! I just saw you on ‘Great Performances” on PBS with David Foster …. what a brilliant man he is to have seen how incredible you are and to have taken you on. I love this song. Never thought about MJ and BW singing together, but their voices are a perfect blend. I bought the song and MJ’s album as well as both of Brooke’s albums and play them a lot while I’m working. I also bought David Cook’s album and love it, too. And guess what? I’m a 72 year old grandma. You don’t have to be young to appreciate talent and great music.
