Another stellar review for MJ!
The first half of the show actually had stronger singing. Michael Johns, Kristy Lee Cook and Carly Smithson hit all their stage cues and all their notes. Ironically, for a concert put on for mainly 8-14-year-olds, all the biggest cheers came from Johns’s and Smithson’s versions of tunes from the ’70s: “We Are The Champions,” “Dream On” and “Crazy On You.”
Johns, Lee Cook and Smithson were all much better singers last night than their higher placing counterparts. Johns even more than the others outshone his choice of material actually putting a fresh spin on tunes that have been worn into the ground. The remaining singers: Brooke White, Chikezie Eze and Ramiele Malubay were all uniformly decent — and uniformly forgettable.

Do we see a pattern here?
It seems like no matter how the rest of the concert is reviewed, Michael is always mentioned as being a hightlight. Whether it’s his fans, critics, other idols fans, or dads that are forced to take their children to the concert, Michael proves that he is star material!
We love you Michael, we are so proud of you!

The concert was not only for young teens and children. I knew that people or parents would enjoy the concert and change their minds about the AI concerts. The concert was most satisfying in that the performances were for all age levels and tastes. Those of us that support Michael Johns, were NOT disappointed in his performance and have great anticipation for his released single and album. I left the concert completely satisfied and awe struck.

Michael was awesome at the Albany show! He was the best singer there. I noticed that the “over 30 crowd” at the show, including myself appreciated him the most.
I probably thought this because of the songs he chose to perform which were from the 70’s. It felt 3 songs wasn’t enough and I left the arena wanting more!
I can’t wait until his CD is released. The is a rumor going around idolforums.com
that he may be signed to an idie record label in which Linda Perry is the producer. She also produced James Blunt CD as well. Only time will tell.

Us MJ fans knew how talented he was from his first audition, now people are starting to catch up after hearing him perform and deciding for themselves rather than listening to all that BS from Simon. I’m so happy for him that people are recognizing just what a natural and amazing singer he is, MJ deserves all the success that comes his way.

That’s our boy! He’s got the stamina and drive from playing Auzzi football and other sports. As I suggested in a previous post that most will fade as they near the 20 mile wall. Michael is not only keeping up the pace but is stepping it up a notch and setting an example to the others to show some enthusiasm to give the audiences what they paid for. He’s got the makings of a great entertainer. It’s not easy to hit that same mark every night….but that’s what a professional does.
You rock Micky J!

From what I have seen from the Idol tour, Michael is the one who loosens the others up and they appear to be having fun. I think that without Michael there they would just look like they were going through the motions. Michael struck me as star material from his first Idol appearance and he has proven my instinct correct. I am so happy for him.
