Michael sat down with Jennifer Curinga and Katie Kramer of Syracuse.com for a great video interview in Rochester yesterday.
Highlights: talking about the fangirly cake that MJO’s very own Jane (cakelulu) presented him with in Toronto on Saturday AND mentioning the video camera we got him as his favorite piece of “swag”.

He looks soooooo gooooood in this interview, so calm, steady, smooth, sincere, and humble. He just grabs your attention and it just follows him. He is adorable.

Oh my god I love this video! Thank you for finding it and posting it! I laughed out loud atleast 2 times he is great! Especially about the mom comment about wanting to take a picture =) What a guy! And I am glad he enjoyed that beautiful cake that was made for him, I am glad he didn’t eat it I would freeze it so I could have it forever.

lmao this is by far one of my favorite interviews. the whoopie cusion made me laugh my arse off, and his hair being pushed back with those sunglasses is friggin sexy;)

OMG! OMG! That was such a great interview! I am so happy for Jane!!! Michael is so sweet to mention her. She really deserved it. Here cake was the most amazing gift ever! I am also glad he liked the video camera so much.

I luv this interview.. i know there are people who think he’s arrogant with all the getting the boot too early talk, but i dun think it is at all.. the man just says what he thinks about his elimination and there is nothing wrong with that! give him a break sheesh.. luv ya Michae!!

What a great interview and the BEST news re. his record plans! This must be Michael’s way of allaying any fear fans may have re. his lact of a major co. recording deal. He’s not only innately intelligent, but wise from his past experiences as well. He’s got things under his control. Way to go, Michael! How can you not admire this guy? He’s so appreciative! Kudos to Jane for making him that special, beautiful, unforgettable cake and to MJO for the video camera!!

Michael…if you read this..I am overwhelmed..I can’t believe it..and you have made me so happy..I was so hoping that you’d love it..I wanted it to show thanks and love for you and your beautiful music.
You can keep David Puddy….he has a high sugar content and you will be able to just pick him off the cake and dry him out..no plastic bags though..in a cardboard box..he’ll stay good for a long time..
I am thrilled about your record..I will be the first in line..

Great interview! How frickin sweet that he mentioned the cake and showed pics of it he has on his phone. And I love how honest he is, even if it rubs some people the wrong way. Whatever. He WAS robbed. No need for him to be coy about it. I was also nodding along with everything he had to say about Simon. I love hearing him talk about his plans for his album, too. I feel dumb for ever worrying about record deals and all that. He knows what he’s doing. And I’m glad he likes the camera!!! Now if only we could get a vlog soon!!

Michael I’m one of the Mums you’ve got ” locked down” !! I am so pleased that you are now answering the questions given in your own style now. Your Aussie honesty is refreshing !! Us Aussies like to say things as they are with no bull . I’d much rather that than someone giving pat answers that hide what they are truly like as a person!! This was a really great interview that told us a lot about what will be positive for you in the future. Thanks also for making Jane’s day by showing her cake on your phone & on camera.

Just got back home and check on MJO and find this! Excellent! This is probably my favorite interview, hands down. Especially since he looks as gorgeous as ever! Thank you so much for doing this interview, Michael!

Aw that was the best interview! He said our Jane was adorable and wow he was really impressed with the cake! Go Jane…you must be so proud…and rightfully so. Loved the part about locking in the moms…ha ha, that’s like what 90% of us at least! I can’t WAIT for the record and of course I can’t wait to see him in AC…only 4 more days!!!

I love this interview! You are so sweet! You’ve put Jane permently on cloud nine with your mention of her cake! So sweet of you!
I fall in the mom category too! And you’ve definately got me locked down!!!! I’m hooked for life! Afterall who do you think got my 16 month old daughter hooked? I’m guilty as charged! We absolutely adore you in our house (even my husband likes you, but don’t tell him I told you LOL!!!!!!!)

Now we know that Michael figured out the Idol “game” very early in the process and he refused to play. What a smart, handsome, witty, confident and very talented guy!

Awww…so cool that he mentioned Jane again - I hope he never lets his phone battery die out !
You could really hear that cold - he didn’t sound as sparky as normal, hopefully he’ll get over it before the next concert.
If he liked those portraits, I hope he gets to see the one that LiSan did…maybe someone should post it on his myspace - hers was exceptional.

That is my most favorite Michael interview yet!!! So glad to hear that he is enjoying the fan meet and greats more than he thought he would. I guess he’s feeling the love! And so happy for Jane–he has your cake on his phone!!! That is the best thing ever!

MJ looked as gorgeous as ever but seemed tired which is only natural,
What I liked most about the interview was that we got to see more of his
personality, not just the fun side, and he was able to say more about what he thought
about his time on AI, not so PC, good for him,
I can’t wait to see his interviews when he releases his record, should be really
interesting as he can give more frank answers and not have to worry about the
AI P.G. rating!!!

it’s good to hear he enjoys meeting people, it was cool to hear him talk about that..and the mums locked down haha!! ok i’m not a mum but he has me locked down…(my mom does like him too though lol).
the cake thing was so cool, congratulations!! it looked awesome and he was so excited with his phone and everything haha.
i love how the lady was nearly whispering when she asked him if he thought he got voted off early, like they couldn’t talk about it or something haha…and he’s just like…”oh yeah.” lol…i don’t think he’s overconfident or conceited at all, i admire him for not being afraid to be honest and say what he really thinks. it’s not like all that stuff matters now anyway, it’s time for all of them to get on with their careers, so the topic isn’t so sensitive now and i think it’s safe to speak his mind without getting into much trouble with anyone.
so excited for his cd!!! =] love him <3

“Got the mom’s locked down” huh? I believe it! I like the fact that you are trying to understand why people seem to love you so much. “Love” being a relative term. Everyone has their Idol “favorite” that they connect to. You have “charisma” that makes you connect with the public w/o having to be their favorite. People will buy your cd because of your ability to connect with all fans. I wish you success on your own terms, whatever that turns out to be. Please include “Little Bear” on your new cd.

What a great interview..
I love how genuine and at the same time sweet Michael is. Never change MJ!
The only advice I can give you now: No matter how successful you become, don’t ever ever let all of that into your head, always stay humble. It will take you far.
He looks so HOT in this video, love that t-shirt look. He is gorgeous.
I really hope everything works out for him, it looks like he has some heavy hitter writing stuff for him so let’s pray his record is a hit and he gets enough promotion to get his music played on the radio.
You go Michael, we will be rooting for you every step of the way.

I’m glad to hear him say what is true about the AI judges - their ignorance of music outside the Top 40 is breathtaking and their tastes are predictable. Mike seems very confident, so he must have some good people in his corner. It is refreshing to hear candid, non-politically-correct answers. I look forward to a time when he’s not even asked about AI and he can just talk about his career.

This was the best interview with Michael ever. He is so easy going and genuine. He is soooo handsome. Jane you must be on cloud MJ right now!! That cake is beautiful!! You even put David Puddy on it! I loved the whoopie cushion too. I lauhed out loud!!

This is a really good interview. Very candid. Michael looks relaxed and perhaps a tad bit tired, but still charming as usual. He mentioned the cake! And showed the interviewer a picture of it. I think he’ll be talking about that 20 years from now!

That was such an awesome interview (ITA, MJ looked TOTALLY adorable throughout, OMG!!) ~ congrats to Jane too, that was such a thrill to hear him talk about the cake ~ and the video camera, too!! I’m still hoping to see the AI tour when it hits my town….gotta have me some MJ….LOL!!
