Up Close With The American Idols - Michael Johnsby Sherry Lipp
Johns came into the interview with his left arm heavily bandaged. The injury was obviously recent because no one in the room seemed to know what had happened to him. Carly Smithson took time out of her interview to find out what caused the injury. He explained, “David Cook threw me a pass, and like, we’re running back - and Archuleta’s dad was right there - and then BOOM! I went straight down.”
I did not know until that day which of the Idols I would be talking to, so I had prepared some general questions that I could ask anyone. I told Michael that I had already asked him most of the standard questions I had prepared. “It’s okay - let’s just talk. What’s with your bracelets? Live Strong? And what’s with the multi-colored one? I’ll interview you, how about that?” he teased.

Sweet article. The article shows Michael’s determination during for the tour and fans. I still can’t imagine trying to interview someone with a leaking ice bag on their arm. I hope his arm is doing much better.

I do hope our honey takes care of himself. He has a lot more tours to go! Can’t he play Guitar Hero or something safter like that?

That was a great interview. I can’t wait to buy your CD Michael!. It sounds like it is going to be amazing. I am glad you’re having such a great time on tour, and be careful. lol!

He sounded like Papa Johns in that interview..looking out for the younger ones..giving them advice.
I can’t wait for the CD and in the meantime….take care and have a blast..can’t wait to see you live!

It was probably a minor injury like a bruise or a bone bruise. They were in Tacoma, WA on 7/12 (search Youtube for Michael Johns David Cook play Football). That must of been when he collided w/ Poppa A. and wacked his elbow on the blacktop…..that hoits! The show managers will probably restrict there curricular activities now since “The show must go on”. At any rate MJ looks pretty nimble…fist pump and all in the Columbus, OH show video from 7/20. Mikey’s a tuff guy remember he played Australian Rules Football.

LOL Michael you just crack me up with your answer whether your injury will affect your performance
“Movement might be restricted. But that’s alright. It won’t affect my voice, of course. I’ve got some fist pumps I can’t do - might throw in some kung fu kicks instead.”
lol.. would love to see his kung fu kicks some day though

Great article and interview! It was great to hear once more how he fully appreciates what he and the other idols are experiencing now and how he does not that any of it for granted. Michael’s so grounded, so wise….so wonderful.

now that’s a performer, through thick and thin he still goes for it. i was in tacoma and didn’t notice the injury….gotta take a closer look at all the videos. and he still signed stuff afterwards. thank you michael that despite your injury, you still came out to see us fans!!
