New Michael interview on Comcast.net

Date June 26, 2008

Thanks to everyone who sent this in.

The “American Idols Live” tour is set to kick on Tuesday in Glendale, Ariz., and I got a chance to chat with “Idol” finalist Michael Johns just as the singers wrapped up rehearsals in Los Angeles and prepared to take off for their three-month trip across the country. Michael, who pulled together some big fan support and became the first notable early departure from Season 7, talked about plans for the tour, whether David Archuleta’s dad has been the nuisance he’s made out to be, and spills one thing about Paula Abdul that he’s never told anyone! Check it out.

So, has the time since the show gone faster than you expected?
It’s definitely gone fast, but it’s also been a lot of work. We’ve just had a blast, man. But now I’m completely ready to get out on the road and do the whole thing. I mean, the chance to perform in front of 10,000 people on a given night, it’s really an honor.

What can you tell us about what fans can expect from the show?
Basically, you’re getting mini-concerts all in one. So you’re just seeing Jason Castro, or Michael Johns, or Carly (Smithson) by themselves on stage, like, with no one else. We’ll be doing three or four songs each, and obviously doing some medleys and stuff like that.

After going through rehearsals, is there any one singer’s set you’re looking forward to?
I’m really thoroughly impressed with Kristy Lee Cook’s set, actually. It’s like she’s way more comfortable doing this than she was on the show. I’m not the biggest country fan in the world, but she’s bringing it. Then there’s Jason Castro and Brooke White. That’s what’s cool about it is you go from R&B to country to rock. Read the rest…

I am always impressed by how Michael handels himself in interviews. He seems very natural and always seems to come up with a great answer. I can’t wait for CD to be released. I wish they would announce who he has signed with already! How freaking long are they going to make us wait?

Something has been corrupted on my computer, so I can’t post in the forum, see photos or send an email via the contact section. What software do I need to download for things to work again? Anyway, I have found an amusing blog entry that I haven’t seen elsewhere. The administrators can repost this properly on the site if they wish.

You have to scroll down when you load the page. I hope it isn’t old news. I couldn’t find any reference to it here on MJO. It sounded genuine and was amusing because it was different. I’d love to hear Michael’s take on it.
